Final

Hello everyone. My WIP.

And here is my little making-off:
Why blimp? I like weird flying transport like this:

Flying car - it's damn cool idea! (And Beyond Good and Evil is great game BTW

) Then I found good candidate to fly.

Flying "auto rickshaw" - I never saw it before. Good choice then.
Next step - sketch. Check out my 2D skills

You might consider having the support ropes branch before attaching to the envelope to more evenly distribute the weight. Also, consider adding some mooring ropes; at the moment there's nothing to hold it down when it lands.

Most of the dirigibles with hanging cabins such as yours had a fairly substantial pipe running from the gondola into the balloon; this was an air discharge pipe. Something similar to a drier exhaust hose might work well with this design.

I think the number of ropes you have now is awesome, keeps it nice and simplistic! Really awesome job with the high poly dude, looks really clean! Can't wait to see the vehicle in cryengine as well!

Really great job so far, but like DWalker, I would add some net like fishing net, to keep the simplistic style but add some more credibility to the balloon.

DWalker, good point. About mooring ropes. I was planning to do them But with any additional ropes my blimp looks more complicated and less elegant:) Same situation with rope branches and pipe yes, it will be more realistic. I tried a lot of different variants of balloon. In very first variant balloon was much bigger, it has a lot of ropes. And I didnt like those proportions. I want to focus attention on the car. Balloon has only one purpose to answer how does this thing fly. In this project realism is not my goal. May be Ill try to add mooring ropes later. It isnt problem, I dont have to change UV layout to play with ropes.

I thought about variant without any balloon at all. Like taxi from Beyond Good and Evil. It flies and nobody cares about how does it do that.

Lovely stuff. It'd be great if you could add some discoloration/variation to the ropes diffuse here and there to break up the uniformity.

Looks great! The overall quality of everything is really strong. My only crit right now is the dark shadows in the balloon where the rope is pulling on it. Is it pre-baked or are your normals just that strong? Are you using a detail normal on the balloon itself too? The texture reads really well all around.

leleuxart, It's pre-baked AO & normals. I'll try to decrease AO brightness. I'm not sure. It looks fine for me already. And yes, balloon has detail normal map. There are few good detail bump maps in forest scene. I took one of them.

The most frequently asked question was a question about pipe from gondola to balloon. After bunch of variants I finally made pretty good hosepipe design.

Hello again! Thanks everyone for your extra positive feedback. After 3 month I finally finished this project. I spend 2-3 days to make two suitcases and 2-3 evenings to remake textures.

Hey Micaki. I made 10-minutes video for you. In this video I made part of leather texture. Nothing difficult. I blend two textures: Leather and Scratches. Same blending for metal parts: clean metal texture & scratches texture.
