A good place to set my roots in 3d game environment art.

So, i have been asking lots of stupid questions on here. Pardon me for that. So 3 weeks ago i got in to 3D but, i can find all kind of videos of stuff. but never what i want. So im asking this community some questions. I understand basics on modeling, texturing. But im stuck at that point. I don't know where to go from here. and, Can someone recommend a free engine to see my work?

UDK Totally Free. Though, if you can afford it Unreal Engine 4 is better to work with now.

You can afford UE4 from what everyone is saying. Just subscribe at $20, then cancel your subscription. You legally maintain access to the engine, you just don't get any future updates.
