Question about modular 3D asset

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering when making a modular 3D asset, which method is best?

Exemple with this image.

Creating a detailled 3d model with a texture with no normal

or

Creating a basic model with a texture and it's normal map?

Knowing, the asset is always about 3,5m above the ground. So a normal character (1,80m) never sees it right in front of him and is repeated like 45 or 50 times.


Which one is less expensive in GPU ressource?
