Testing Low Poly War Axe for game, need advice

I'm currently working on making weapons for a game project, and technically I'm a new, so I really need some tip and advice for my work.

This is my testing war axe for the game. It's about 700 tris, with 1024 x 1024 Normal / Diffuse / Specular rendered in Marmoset. Please to have you comments.

I like the design! Interesting form imo. The texture is a bit to grey i think. Maybe experiment with color variations?

The model looks pretty cool but the textures don't do it any justice. You should try to work in some different materials. Like a black metal, brass, steel, titanium, rubber for the grip etc... What game engine are you using? And I assume you're rendering in marmoset 1?

Well, I'm pretty new tbh, and I worked this out of my concept artist's suggestions, so it might not work out as good as expected. I have no idea how to express the materials, not yet.

The engine is a self-developed engine, based on Glitch Engine. And you're right this was rendered in Marmoset 1. Maybe I should try some touches with Marmoset 2 sooner or later.

Colors are too boring. Maybe you should try to color handle in red colors.

No, I'd stick to marmoset 1. If you're using a game engine with a non-PBR workflow then there's not much point in using marmoset 2. It looks better for presentation but you'd have to re-adjust your materials for your game engine. You cannot get marmoset 1 anymore at least the legal way this has been confirmed by the devs

Yeah but he already has it. An alternative would be the xoliul shader. Or just importing into the engine, but that can be time consuming.

I'm using 3Dsmax 2013, and the Xoliul Shader doesn't work well with it, as far as I can remember.

Needs some more color, and the materials need different spec values to stand out. Near black values in the diffuse are too dark, you should let the normal map do more of the work. Also not every edge needs to be completely worn away the same way.
