Looks great! I wonder if the smoothness of the body would look better if you used Face-Weighted Normals?

It looks like the the rims are smaller on your model than the picture you are using as concept. I also feel as thought the whole mesh seems a little long? Like it has been stretched out.

Does look pretty good with the face weighted normals, especially things like the headlights. Glad it worked out for ya!

Yeah but first I'm going to create a few high poly meshes to bake some normals for the underneath and engine bay.

How are you getting reference for underneath the engine bay? Or underneath the car or in the engine in general? Just Google image search?
