Add a Hole where Geometry is

Hi People,

im working on a high poly model and i must add a hole where is already some geometry. Cutting this Shape in and Extrude in dont look good.
What would be the best way to make a hole in there?

I looks like you are using 3ds Max. Try Probooleans.

Thanks Guys!
I will try Probooleans.

That method which Grant Warwick is using, im trying to add into my mesh.
But he works with a clean plane. I got some edges running through this.

I think this will cause problems.

Sometimes what I do is:

1. delete the faces where I want to add a hole
2. position a cylinder
3. delete the end caps & flip normals
4. extrude a quad ring around the opening
5. attach
6. manually re-route edge flow with the connect tool

That just means you'll have to do some manual edge cleanup, shouldn't be an issue at all.

Edit:
This was my workflow:
I deleted some edges around the area where the Hole had to be, so that i have some unconnected vertices and 1 big and clean face.
I created a circle and used Cut to Cut my Mesh along the circle template. Now i connected all unconnected vertices to the circle (Quads and Triangles) added some support edges with Connect and Inset, yeah..and this is it.
