This is one of the projects I've been working on for the past month. It's a collaboration with my amazing friend Khoebe Magsaysay. (http://khoebe.blogspot.ca/). We came up with the idea together and she worked on design while I created all the 3D elements.

The backstory is a corrupt medical facility which performs cybernetic experiments on humans. This is one of the rooms where they store subjects in life pods which also have the ability to turn into medical beds for testing. The area under the glass is a cryo chamber which can hold up to 6 pods.

Finally finished! Here's a camera fly-through and final shots. Had a lot of fun with this project.

The difficult part with this project is balancing the stylistic elements of hospitals with scifi, without going too over the top. I've also been learning texturing as I go, so it's been a slow process. Decided to not bake anything besides the pods since the design is relatively simple. Going to try making some normal maps later with ndo2, but for now most of the enviro is just simple base textures and fancy UDK materials.

    Here's some WIP shots:

UVing took me a long time, I'm not sure if I'm doing it efficiently so I'm just going to upload all of my current texture sheets. Still have some UV layout work to do.

Ooh, OK. This seems very interesting. I admit to having a certain bias with this sorta lighting ever since Empire Strikes Back, but you you know what you're doing and I'd rather just wait and see where you take this.

    You got my attention.

    @ Polyglider
Thanks dude, post your art here!

To be honest this is a big learning experience for me. Feels like my workflow needs to be improved, but thanks! Hopefully I won't disappoint.

    @ cholden
Not sure if that's a good or bad thing? By the way I learned how to use cubemaps from you, thanks a lot!

I'm not sure what happened. When I imported some updated meshes, the lighting completely changed and I can't go back. But the enviro was feeling overall too red so maybe it's a good thing? I updated some textures too. And just the Maya shot at the end for fun.
