Been looking at tackling some new items, so thought i'd have a look at wards - here's my first idea, if anyone has any feedback i'm all ears!

The only issue I could see is that the top hat would actually obscure most of the eye and the monocle ingame.
A point of criticism though, with how raggedy the top hat looks, you'd expect the monocle or "pillar" to show some wear and tear. Right now those look brand spanking new and the hat looks kind of out of place with the rest.
As far as the potential animation, I see a couple weird things going on. I've animated eyeball + tophat combo, and while it is fun, it's old hat, excuse the pun. On top of that, there has been atleast one "stone pillar + Eyeball combo in the store.
I'm not saying that this concept isn't doable, I'm just saying the ideas have already been sort of saturated.. on top of that the the mustache is kind of a wonky subject in the dota community with ixmike and all.
Just my two cents. Regardless of the "item" your painting skills are beautiful, and I'm instantly a fan. I can't wait to see what you will come up with next

If you want to keep the top hat concept you might also consider scaling it down and positioning it a bit tilted. Won't look all that gentlemen-like then but for that ragged hat I think it might fit quite well.
Anyway, yes i agree that theres a few issues with this particular concept. I dont know if its a 100% fit into the dota 2 lore, but there seems to be some leeway with things like couriers, so thought this might get away with being a little more whimsical/light-hearted
As for the hat obscuring the eye in the game view - yes, could be an issue. I'd planned to keep it tilted jauntily out of the way, but that may or may not work. I guess i could mock it up quickly and see what it looks like

What is that about the bone? Even with the 52 budget, I dont see any reason why you couldn't do the longer tail. Also, ROCKETS AND WARTHOGS! :thumbup:

yeah, sorry if it wasnt clearer - the problem is he's not an npc, just a weapon.
He'd be gyrocopters bomb, so you only get the one bone - which isnt ideal, but worth a shot
thats also another problem - i'm hoping that if i keep the shapes as big and simple as possible, it might work. And if it doesnt...well lets not think about that!

1 - no glow - just keep them looking like tnt/explosives
2 - if there is a glow then how would i get particle effects attached - e.g. fire/smoke?)
