Few questins for high-poly models.

Hey guys, how lond did it take for you to master high-charactes? For me high poly characters are over 7k polygons. And when u do new human model do u do it totaly from scrath or u have some simple base body that you edit to looks like model u want to make? Last question. How long does it takes for you to finish just geometry, for me about a week or 2.

One more how hard is to finish and how long does it take to finish high-poly human: geometry, uv mapping, animating and drawing textuse?

next gen spec hero characters are taking around 3-4 months to finish on average.

ps3 gen you were looking at 1 - 1.5 months

getting good at it takes a lifetime..

Huh sounds terrible to me, what if I have medium quality model for start, just body no weapons and armor, only body geometry and with finished animations. About model quality well I was thinking about something a bit simpler like models from wow.

Even when using a program like Zbrush that can really improve the modeling time compared to just moving verticies around?

Maybe that's my problem is that I just don't spend enough time on my assets. I'm able to put together weapons such as machine guns/sniper rifles/ etc rather quickly and have them look decent but can never get through a human character workflow.

Well, there's a reason that character artist is a separate job title from environment artist.
