Hello Polycount :poly142:

I want to ask how to you handle it to bring the High-Poly Mesh sculpted in Mudbox back to Low-Poly.

Someting like this for eg.

A friend told me that I need a programm called Topgun ?!

Yeah, Topogun is a retopology software, but you can use other tools too for this. Like 3dsmax has its own retopology tool.I dont know about Maya, but maybe it has too.Or you can build the lowpoly "by your hands" without a spacial tool. In a lot of cases it works too, and its not hard at all.

But Topogun works great as well.

Topogun is worth the purchase..it doesnt have an automated retopo...but does give you an awesome measure of control over the process- with an intuitive interface

To add on to what Obscura said, ZBrush allows you go back in subdivision levels to get a low poly model. You could take that and decimate it down even lower until the silhouette changes, then retopo it in ZBrush or another program. I'm not sure about Mudbox though, I'm sure it has it's own history for keeping the older models? But pretty much any major program has some method of lowering polycount and/or retopo. There was a script for Maya recently that looked like it works similar to ZBrush's.

Previously I forgot about that today I have seen a video from a new feature of the new Zbrush. Its called Zremesher. Looks good to me.
