Hand painted windmill.

Hey guys. Seems like a lifetime since i posted something new here. This is the latest 3d model made for www.handpaintedtextures.com I would love to get some suggestions how to go from here. This is only a diffuse rendered with no light.

The end of this moth handpaintedtextures.com will go throught an overhaul. Some of the new features is video tutorials, a free stuff section and the option for other artists to sell their assets/textures on the site. The decayed blades really don't seem to fit the overall condition of the mill.

Nice Texture, I think you can improve this one a bitmore with some AO bake and fake painted-in casted shadow from the roofs // Whoops sorry :P accidentally double posted.

Nice texture I think you can improve this on a bit more with low poly's AO bake in and paint some cast shadow under the roof's overhang area. Also, try adding a dark gradation from the bottom to suggest more top lighting/shadow area.

Thanks man! great point will look into that. AO bake will be hard.I could do a lightmap in a different UV layer that could work. Care to do a quick paintover?

Notice that I mark a sharp/hard shadow under the overhang but use just very soft amount on the bottom gradation. + Maybe you can add more fake color lighting on the top/key area like windows, entrance like in this one.

I think i got the wrong idea. It is one thing to paint fake light like AO and stuff into the diffuse aswell but i would never paint shadows like that (makes it impossible to use in a wide range of areas) . I reccon you think light would look good in an piffed up render right?

Ah, I got your point about reusing texture. Yeah, maybe it's had to be done in-engine instead for presentation.
