Hi, I'm Teh_Bucket. Over the past year I've been trying to learn Blender, and develop all the skills that are needed to use it. I've been making videos from model to render, as well as plenty of unfinished models and ideas.

I'd love to hear your critiques, especially any techniques, processes or elements of design that I should be using. Please keep in mind I'm new at this, and haven't gotten any complete education in Blender or animation.

This is a music video I started, but still haven't finished, because of music rights and such. I'm planning on finishing it, but won't be able to publish the finished project. The final video could be summarized to aliens blowing things up.

This is a model (you see it for about 4 frames) of the alien skimmer:

I made and rigged an alien in a battle suit.

I used shape keys to animate opening the mask and movement of some gun pieces.

And finally, this is a much more recent clip (3 seconds). It's a sample for a music video I'll actually be able to publish. The finished product should be done next week.

    The Home Safe music video is complete! This took forever, took several renderings, and taught me alot.

    It's been awhile since my last post, I've started a lot, and haven't finished anything!

    My most recent, and most likely to be completed projects are modeling for a game, and creating another music video.

    The game mod is mainly to create/texture/animate low-poly characters. So far, I've got 3 (mostly) completed:

    This process has been a great way to learn and practice unwrapping and texturing, as well as how to constrain geometry while still making a good model.

    The music video is still in the preparation stage. I've been figuring out blender's cycles engine, more importantly the way it uses materials and how to create lifelike renders. I got distracted partway through, and ended up creating strange objects to furnish a mad scientist's hidden room. Though I haven't gotten there yet, the animation will most likely consist of more dynamic light creatures exploring the room.

    Just finished a quick music video for a song my friend spontaneously did. I have to say, I jumped away from my usual style. I had a lot of fun with the restrictions I put on myself, such as figuring out how to characterize this pixelized shape with only simple movement.

    First thing I'll post is the finished music video, I posted renders from the scene earlier. Back then i was thinking dark smooth cycles render but I ended up doing BI toon shading. Big change. The character was vertex halos, I rigged him with just IK targets for easy animation, but I learned that isn't enough, you can see all the glitches (hiccups) in the video.

    I've actually developed the game assets into an actual game (well, a slight mod of Cube 2: Sauerbraten). Though I ended up canceling the project, you can download a slightly complete version of the game here:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/wule/ (not 64 bit windows friendly as far as I can tell. You can try re-compiling.)

    I don't want to repost all the assets here, but I did major improvements to the textures, as well as upping the polycount a ton (they averaged about 1500 tris when I was done). You can find pictures here:

    I had an intro to digital art class last semester. It was kind of boring, so I decided to overkill all the projects. Exploring various elements of art, I did the open-ended projects in blender. Here's a few videos:

    It was fun using blender in a whole different way than I usually do.

    And finally, I've been working on 3d assets for the slow-developing open-source game facade. This is a friendly DXRA robot, untextured (but finally rigged!)

    I've got plans for a new music video, this time cooperatively creating it with my friend who is very good at concept art/writing/storyboarding, my weak spots. I've also got a blender tutorial to do, something I've never done before, but hey, it'll work out. Using 'bake sound to fcurves' to animate things in blender using drivers.
