[Portfolio Website] - Evil Raz

Hey, I am a recent graduate of Game Dev program. I just recently created website after learning html and css 3 days ago. I would like your input on how to improve it.

I don't have much art on it and the video will be changed with demo-reel... once I have better stuff, but I would like to see what the polycount community thinks.

Get rid of the splash page and the lightbox. As stated many times on PC, the first thing any prospective art director should see is your art. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a single page with big pictures of your art.

As for your art, it isn't bad, but as you said, there isn't too much of it yet!

Just wondering, why the get rid of lightbox though? Is it because it's more convenient scrolling?

It doesn't load sometimes and you can't right click -> save image as which is valuable if someone likes your work, such as an employer (put your name/website on every image on your portfolio).

Videos aren't terribly useful for static objects. A few good still images will provide more information in a more accessible format. Unless the video shows actual movement, don't include it in the portfolio.

Your main banner image should include contact information and your preferred job - character artist, environmental artist, whatever. You should also have a navigation bar - portfolio (which will be the default), about, and resume.

@Skillmister: Haha! That's hilarious.

@PyrZern: Awesome. I tried one of those, it's pretty simple to use. If only I knew it before wasting 3 days on creating my website.

@DWalker: Alright removed but on the other thing... isn't it a terrible thing to limit myself to one specific area?

Most large companies prefer artists who specialize in a single area; conversely, small developers (such as those working on mobile games) like generalists so they can essentially have one or two artists doing everything for a project. From what you've shown on your site, I'd have to say you're a character artist.
