Hi there! It's high time I started my own sketchbook here on polycount.
I'm currently attending The Game Assembly in Malmö, Sweden. I do mainly concept art but I've also grown very fond of 3d now that I'm learning it.
If you have any thought on my workflow or my designs and if there's ANYTHING you think I'm missing, Then you'd do me a HUGE favor if you'd tell me. Thanks in advance!

concepts for a robot. I'm trying to get a bit out of my comfort zone and think of function and purpose rather than fall back on using cat legs, thin waists and broad shoulders. also did a study.

Ha, nice corridors. Reminds me of the endless job to add some decorative or architectonal twists to our corridors to keep them somewhat interesting. Which isn't easy!

As usuall trying to speed up my process. Tried this time to define the reflectivity of a material early on. I tend to leave speculars till I'm rather deep in the painting but i figured they'd be an awesome tool to try to render out shape.

The environment is ment for a horror game, i looked at resident evil and tried to mimic it. It'd be nice to have a warm lightsource and still have it look creepy though

Thanks kristaW. he's part of apersonal project with small chibi chars in exosuits. Still I'm not to fond of over-cuteness in chebis so I try to ad some realism to them. Which, yeah, makes them look like midgets rather than cartoony chibis. no matter what it's been an interesting experiment

lightstudy for the win, I've taken a liking to overcast light resently, normaly i use all these very well defined lightsources and often i resort to just one but fog and overcast has such a nice mood to it that i've normaly don't use

This is a nice sketchbook man! I'm really enjoying the textures on that wolf (although it seems a bit stretched). Also that ivoluntary pokeman is great. Don't stop posting!

broken lawnmover: thanks! i've tried to use and create my own custom brushes these last months properly. And doing studies are a great way of producing them i've found out!
and I agree, he has a stretched feel to himself. thanks for the comment!

I think I could use some more longer ongoing studies as well, but I've yet to feel I've mastered speed like some other people in my class have

Ah, it's nice to be back again. I'm sorry for not posting and sharing my work very well during the summer but I'm going to end that habit now that schools started. Here are some thumbnail compositions for an kitchen turned into a post apocalyptic shelter

I just like to mention that at the moment, it doesn't look like that stick is supporting the guy. It might look better if the bottom of the stick would be angled forward and his hands closer to his torso

Thanks for the cirt vince! I think you're definitly right about the stick and placement of the arms.

One thing that bugges me is that she doesn't read as an old lady which was my intent.

I guess it's the broad jaw and the lack of hips

finished the detective. Im pretty happy the end result
But I learned that with to much polish and nitpicking details my work tends to get uncanny, and the process takes waaay to much time.
Im going to aproach the next character with a more painterly aproach and really try to never get into excessive details. Rather work on the feel of the materials and the volumes with looser methods and rely more on texture solutions for rendering
