Hi everyone,

I decided to start a small environment scene as a side project.

Concept by Artyom Vlaskin :

I just finished blocking out the scene

In Maya:

UDK:

I am going for realistic textures and not stylized like in the concept.
I still haven't messed with the camera settings.

Any critiques and comments would be appreciated.

Good start so far! I would really recommend you give the roof a nice treatment. Warp it a bit like the concept and model in some of the missing tiles and what not. Also the box floor areas would read better log cabin style with a few more triangles rounding off the tops or just straight up cylinders like your front log pieces. Keep going (:

chriszuko - thanks for the tips. Yes for the roof and everything else, I am going to try and stay true to the concept as far as modelling goes. And yes, for the bottom pieces they are going to be like in the concept, I just put boxes to block out.

.. Anyway he is doing handpainted textures so mine is going to be a different style.
