Zbrush - Adaptive skin

Hello, I'm following a tutorial on Digital Tutors "Creating a fantasy dragon in Zbrush" and I've just finished creating the dragons body in zspheres but when I click adaptive skin the body is in mashed up pieces and doesn't 'flow'

Anyone know what's wrong?

I restarted the sculpt and now the problem seems to be fixed but I have another problem, the sculpt just goes pure white when I use adaptive skin, I don't know what to search to get help, I tried googling zbrush adaptive skin white, white texture but nothing useful or from this decade comes up.

1. tool/ adaptive skin/ increase your Density to 2 or 3

2.check your material type (the sphere on the left)... change to MatCap Red.

I double checked the material type and it's MatCap red but when I use adaptive skin it's still flat white. When I hover the mouse over the tool it previews perfectly. I'll continue to Google search and play around with settings, any further advice is welcome.

Ok..I fixed it by creating a new document, about to start again and then clicking on my dragon tool...it loaded for a few seconds and reappeared working perfectly.
