So, this is something that i've had a difficult time figuring out... and I've seen it talked about before but for the life of me i can't figure out how to do it myself.
(yes, i know this is something that i should have learned early on but for whatever reason i haven't, unfortunately.)
What i'm hoping to do is to use one texture plate for multiple assets in a game engine. I've seen people using Max to take one plate and have multiple objects on it. For single, billboard-style objects i have had no problem but when it comes to making them tile, they will tile, but with all of the texture plate and not just the section i've determined that i would like to have tile.
I know this seems like a really noob question to some but I still can't honestly say i know how to do it. Can you point me in the right direction?

like, if you atlas an object (put what would usually be more than one texture into a single sheet), and part of it must tile, the geometry will need to be cut and mapped accordingly. If this is what you mean?

Now it's time for me to get back to work.
