Fresnel scale, power, bias.

Is there some sort of chart that compares these values for different materials? Like an index of refraction chart?

I am having a hard time figuring out what values I should be using for different materials, and the sdk docs dont help. I know that fresnel affects the reflection amount from different viewing angles, does this mean something like water will have a high fresnel scale while wood will have a low fresnel scale?

Right now for my metal materials I am using something like this:
Fresnel bias: 0.5
Fresnel power: 2-3
Fresnel scale: 15-20

I don't think such a thing exists - but really, it comes down to whatever looks good. These settings are not always going to be finite for a certain material.....things like lighting and environment cubemaps etc are all affecting the material as well.

Best way to study this phenomenon is to looks at surfaces that show of this effect more predominately. Surfaces like Ice, Water and Car Paint all do this.

Figures. I went into the mod sdk and ive been studying different materials from crysis 2, most of the metal textures for example have really low fresnel scale (0.1-2.0),,, but can have relatively strong fresnel power (0-2).

    Thanks guys.
