The 4 maps required for Dota 2 Model Submissions

I've been wanting to participate in adding to the dota 2 workshop, but I am struggling to understand the maps that the guidelines require. It asks for the color, normal, and 2 mask maps. Now I know a little bit about the normal maps but I was curious if anyone could explain each of these and maybe show an example of each?
