3ds max tutorial problem.

Hi! I was trying to follow this tutorial http://www.3dtotal.com/index_tutorial_detailed.php?id=473&catDisplay=1&roPos=1&page=1

But as soon as I get to the second step I find out that none of my edges have any vertices but the picture do have them. Is there an option to add them? do I have to do it manualy? I'm using max 2011.

Do you mean you can't see your vertices while in the edge sub-object mode, or that you can't see any vertices at all? :O I don't quite get the question.

Can't see them at all, They don't create themselves (they're suppose to right?) when I use the connect option so I can't create the same shape as the author for the shoe in the first part.

Like my box doesn't have as many lines and vertices as the one in the picture on the top of the second page.

Is the tut skipping around without saying anything????

Ah, I see. I'm guessing to get from the bottom of the first page (where his model is simply a box) to the top of the second page (where the model actually looks somewhat like a shoe) I'm guessing he just added some loops or extruded/beveled to get to that point. You can then move the lines around to make the shapes look like they are on the second page.

Useful tutorial for adding edge loops! :D

That is pretty weird how it jumped from that point to another. Good luck!
