Edges stay selected - Maya 2013

Hey,

Currently plowing through a tutorial and for some reason edges stay selected even when I've got nothing selected in the scene. The edges seems to stay a light brown colour.

Is this just weird display issue in Maya or does it mean something more?

Have you tried running a command on the select edges to see if anything actually happens, to distinguish between a graphical error or general Maya bug?

Maya has this annoying bug that does that with certain tools. Just go to edge mode on that piece of geometry and select all the edges and it will fix it.

Actually this has been around for much longer and maya doesn't actually have them selected I think (can you edit them in that mode?) it's just an annoying bug.

I experience this all the time. It's just an annoying bug. No fix other than to select all edges, then deselect. It's especially annoying for an OCD kind of person like myself lol...damn edges.
