hey there,
i tried to rig and animate the pope with the mixamo autorigger and it turned out pretty well.
just had problems first with his clothing (an error appeared during the upload of the model, message attached).
my solution was to delete his skirt, rig and animate with mixamo, and the little cleanup and attachment of the skirt in 3ds max.
i hope i dont get disqualified bacause of that.

anyway, i got the time to base the zombie-pope.
you know it yourself: time is rare. and the rest time is not so much... i have to rush!!!! (three hours of creating so far)
i am recording the whole creation progress and if i finish him, there will be a vid of the creation.

here is my progress so far.
still some sculpting work. Have to add pope-shoes and a pope-chain.
and he needs a bible... and then texturing and retopologizing...
phew, hope to get it finished in time.

i have to come to an end with sculpting and progress further with texturing. time is running fast!
I don't know if the clothes are only placeholder or not, maybe you are goining to modelize them ? Cause they look really "muddy", the shapes aren't clean.
I suggest you plant a big cross in his eye ^^.
the clothing is only placeholder, i will refine it in total to make it more believable....
and... HELL YEAH, i thought, 30th of october... DAMN!!! XD so i have to time to make it perfect.

i realized some of the ideas that were suggested.

i am comming to an end with the sculpting progress. i think the last sculpting session could be the last and i am already looking forward to start painting it.
thanks xxxcubanxxx for the tip with the removed finger. i think the missing finger on one side gives it some good variation.
Luke_Starkie: i tried my best with the clothing. i think i could sharpen it some more. but i am tired of trying and i think the texture will work alot.
and one little easter-egg: i thought about the popes underwear....
...some more painting, then retopo.
i dunno... i think, there is something wrong with the color...
still not happy with the direction. and not happy with the scarf at all.
but the eye looks to normal for me. The whole body is dead, but the eye looks like a eye from a normal human, you know?

i just remeshed the pope and baked the maps. the first two are unreal ingame shots. i use 5665 tris right now.
