Hello Polycount!

The name is Alex and I just wanted to go on ahead and say hello to all the artists in this community (and some who have migrated from Gameartisans [like me]). Almost everyone here, I imagine, has skills with drawing, 3D Modeling, animation etc, but I don't see much room for artists in the realm of sound. Since I deal specifically in the world of sound, I'd like to bring some of your concepts to life here on Polycount! With permission from the artists, of course, I'd like to take some of the models/animations found on the site, now and in the near future, and provide them with a little life via sound design/editing.

Thanks everyone! I'm currently working on the audio sample for T-P.O.T...should be done by Wednesday! I still would like to actually have the artists permission before I go and do an audio sample for it though hehe. Also wanting to do a few other people's renders/animations...you all have so much content that I can pull from and put sound to, I just can't keep up!

EDIT: I thought I'd include a picture of the 2D render in question. Nick Carver's T-P.O.T render was something that I thought would be a great intro to sound design for the project at hand.

I'll be doing the sound design in 4 stages: idle, moving, firing and taking hits. Elements are pretty straightforward with some subtle stuff I'm known for. I've got most of the small bits that needed to be included, now to grab up the bigger more up-front stuff. I guarantee it won't sound like your typical "tank" by the time I'm through with it

Alright! Got all my pieces, doing the mixdown right now! Should be up here in the next hour or two! Thanks to Nick Carver for letting me use his T-Pot render!

And here she is..I basically took Nick's design and asked myself "how can I make this not sound like some generic tank?", and that was the birth of the idea that I'd use sounds that weren't "heavy" but still sounded mechanical. Everything from fan motors to small engine cars pitched down to cameras to an, admittedly stock, sound of some gunfire and ricochets. Everything else was made custom for this.

Here is the final rendered mixdown!
