Good mouse for modelling/Engines

Hey,
Just a quick question. Can anyone recommend a good mouse for modelling? I always end up buying the wrong one which feels horrible. Something light and comofortable and relatively low budget! Also any cool large mouse mats too?

Anyway, with that I got this X Trac mouse mat, and it seems to be plenty large.
Microsoft Explorer 3.0 or older (all shaped the same, light and very nice both in feel and build quality)
Steelseries Sensei (very similar to the MS Explorer in shape but a tad more gaming oriented.. that is needlessly high DPI that doesn´t benefit you at all on a day to day basis using windows)
Last but not least, Wacom Mouse if you have a tablet to use it with
I´d recomend some of the Razer ones like the Mamba or the Imperator, but Razer is notorious for being a bit on the "style over substance" side.
If get lucky and dont get a bad copy from them they are awesome.. Great to hold, great to use..
But you might not be lucky and have to do alot of RMA/warranty swapouts like me :P
I´m on my third Razer Naga atm, second Razer Lycosa keyboard and have written off 3 Razer Xbox 360 controlers all of which just randomly started failing within 6 months of purchase.
IMO, stay away from Razer.
I have never had issues with Mid-high end Logitech mice. Just don't get the cheapo 20$ ones. :P
I've got a Razer keyboard and paid about £50 ($80US) for it. Its very very plasticy and I regret buying it to be honest... I like keyboards where when you hit a bit you get a nice firm hit... Not a tacky plastic tap.
Anyway! I'm torn between the Logitec and Microsoft versions. Though I suppose you can never go wrong with Microsoft... Never doing wireless again! So heavy over a long period of time!
I switched over to Razer's Tron mouse and dont regret it for a second. Light, fast and it works well with my claw style grip. Some mice are for a palm grip, and at least for me I find it slows down the work flow.
I still recommend Razer, but its up to you.

They are no longer making them so once the stock is gone, its gone for good.
To be fair, my friend has a Razer keyboard and its lush... I think I made the wrong decision getting the 'Mirror'. It just gets really greasy and feels really flimsy... Ah well. I just don't feel its worth the amount of money I paid for it.
I forgot about that one after trying it in a store! Forgot the name... I was going to say are they any good. It seemed really nice and agile. Just wanted an opinion it really on it as I think they are about £40? If so I think that one is the one
-short battery life
-buttons double clicking
-clicking and holding a button down seems release when it wants sometimes
-intermittent signal problems on a glass desk (even though they advertise the darkfield laser as working great on glass surfaces)
-pain in the ass to hold in your hand when its charging as the usb port is angled oddly
however, i love the feel and button placement (so long as it works)

My only concerns with the Corsair is its wait... Do you get tiresome with it over time? (Wrist ache or feel constrained?)
The Tron mouse I think would just bother me with its odd shape over time... So I'll have to give that a miss.
No worries its not for everyone. You should figure out if you want the claw grip or the palm grip type of mouse.
In the case of the Tron Mouse, it was uncomfortable at first because its oddly shaped but after a week of use it feels more than comfortable. It just takes adjusting and pushing muscle habits (where hand naturally fits) on the mouse of choice.
I also use an intuos or cintiq for my work, even if its in Maya or navigating through the interwebs.
Yeah the type of mouse I've got at the minute is a claw grip and it just gives me a weird crampy feeling while I work. I've used the palm girp in the past and I think its more suited towards my style... Don't get me wrong the Trons mouse looks lust and I would buy it for looks alone, though maybe when I am richer!

Personal favourite is the Mx518 although it`s not easy to find one nowadays.
Now the same thing is happening to this one... Time to order a new one.

The idea being I can add macros for commonly used operations such as Add Plane, Add Cube, change curve type, add modifier, change orientation all that good stuff

Is this true? Has there even been a proper replacement series? It was like the studio-default wherever I worked at, cheap, reliable and perfect.

I've used a variety of mouse pads but the one I have at work is probably best which is a hard surface one. Slick, so the mouse moves easy.
I really need/want a big one! Problem with some mice I could test was that the mouse "button" was way to hard to use as a button.

I borrowed an associates steelseries World of Warcraft mouse for a week on one of my mobile workstations...
It was horrible. I wouldnt recommend them.
I would stick with Razer, Logitech or Microsoft brands.
Razer by far has the best mice in my opinion. (own 3 razers, 2 logitech). Logitech failed on me but the razers still offer the best accuracy and ease...
