Couldnt find if it was specified to not have premade content but it gives me incentive to come back to this model. Hes definitely the War Club type. Heres the concept (done by Ehime on deviantart) I'm going from with slight modifications.

Is this allowed? Pick an existing concept from other artist? Personally I think it shouldn't, it's unfair with other contestants.

I checked into it on the forum and found:

"#1 A new character is recommend and starting the WIP is assuming your starting after the contest has begun. If you have an older work there is no rule "against" it but to be far it would be nice to start something new.

#2 2048 for weapon would fall within the rules but I would say don't go that big unless necessary.

#3 if your not a 2d artist and a friend works out a concept art piece for you please use it, we're not going to be pricks about minor details like that...."

The concept seems to depict the character having less of a fatty build up on the stomach but rather to be more muscular defined. Also he has a tail, you planning on including it or leaving it out?

His biceps need bulking up too.

Thank you. I'm really on the fence on whether or not I want him a more natural fattiness or the super idealized abs.... but I'm thinking I might give him the tail in the concept. Good catch on the biceps as well.

Fantastic start and i really like the concept. I think it would be a nice idea to go with the natual fattiness approach, super ripped just seems too obvious. I also think it would be nice to keep the club that size but if you do, make the hands bigger. Same as what MrNinjutsu said, biceps need bulking up. Infact, the whole upper arm could use a fair bit more size to it. Look forward to seeing more of this

Thank you gilesruscoe! yeah I have the same problem with super ripped especially having that much body mass. I moved his hand sized up and gave him a tail. I beefed up his arms a tad but I think I'mma give his arms and legs quite a bit more musculature. His tail at this stage bugs me. Anyone ever seen those indian kids worshipped as gods born with a tail? thats what it reminds me of... more like a skin flap then an appendage.

It seems you are way to close to human proportions compared to what the concept is showing. The concept is showing over exaggerated muscles from head to toe, the head appears to be much larger then you have sculpted, and even on the tail you are not bulky enough where it connects to the body. Your second attempt is a lot better but you are still missing a lot of the character from the concept. It might not be a bad idea to do some simple sketches to work out the proportions, just so you don't have to keep redoing the sculpt. I love the concept though, and you have a really good start here.

Thank you for the feedback BARDLER. hopefully I've nailed this one a lil closer...one proportion fix I didnt catch is that I can probably widen his head a bit... Also trying out new matcaps.. not sure how I like this one... I liek that its not overly dark on the bottom liek the last one is and shows creases pretty well...

Thanks Texelion, yeah keeping in the pipe and the ankles def need a tough up.. infact that whole area does. Sure hoping I can get this thing in for the deadline.. looks like it might be a close one!

Drawing nearer to completion.. almost getting to the point where I can't tell where to improve so youre feedback will greatly help!

Thing I know to fix:
-normals between toes and fingers
- pelt mashing together near the thigh
- I suppose those skulls could use some more love as well huh?
