GOTY for me, so far. (Even if the public beta starts right at the end of the year
not too fond of the cliche color tints on environments though.
If I can map and use that as a normal multiaxis, multibutton controller in other games, I'm so there. That plus this kind of game means I'll need several pairs of clean pants on standby.
The repeater seemed useless but I'm sure I just need practice with it.
I love how the radar works.
I'd like to see more visually distinctive mechs. They can be hard to tell apart.
I'm excited to see what other levels there will be. I really enjoyed the vertical nature of some parts of the level and would like to see more of that where mechs on a variety of different ledges at different heights.
I have no idea how this game will feel with large player counts (if you're planning to have it?) but it seems interesting.
Is there a one hit kill sniper rifle? I wasn't able to get one.
God, I hope not. That shit can break a game.
The max player count we're thinking right now might be 6v6. That's not set in stone, but it seems to feel pretty good based on our map sizes. From a technical standpoint we're not limited, but we're just trying to find that sweet spot for gameplay's sake.
As for one hit kills, you're probably not going to see them in Hawken. We're trying to keep everything as balanced as possible. However, depending on how you spec your mech you can light someone up pretty quick if you unload both weapons and an offensive item simultaneously.
I'm not sure if it's just the YouTube compression or not knowing where to anticipate looking due to someone else have control over the movement, but at times it felt like it was too fast and jerky and difficult to watch for extended periods due to the overlays (mech visor) on the screen and constant parallax.
Did anyone playing this have any problem with it, or is that simply due to watching it instead of playing it.
