3DS Max - Seam lines not thick enough

Hey guys, today I'm learning some 3Ds Max and and we are cutting seams on a pig.

I can barely see the seams. I see an option to make them thinner, but not thicker.

If anyone has a fix, that would be great

PS: A lot of our class is having this problem, and our teacher is too.

Also, another question. How do I get rid of the core shadow?

I prefer just basic shading

There should be an option to toggle thin or thick seams in the UV Editor.

The shading is from Max 2012, which Is what you're using I assume? I think Nitrous causes it to shade like that for some reason.

I would install Service Pack 1 and the hotfixes to fix some issues, which also might fix that problem, but I'm not sure.

Okay, thanks. And yeah, those edges are on the thickest line settings.

Try clearing the Transform and Scale under the Heirarchy tab. Apply an Xform modifier or reset the Xform of selected under the Hammer Tab.

If you modelled from a plane, it might be stretched in a flat way, where it might be thicker at certain viewing angles. Imported models can have similar glitches where scale is blown out or stretched.

Ah, thanks. This was just a demo model our teacher gave us so I'm unsure about how it was modeled.

Yeah, that might do it too, xforms.

Also If you try to relax UV's in Max, and they don't want to relax as expected/are distorted/skewed, reset xforms and try again.
