Need heightmap from a certain region

Hello,

I need a realistic heightmap of a region. Now I found some tutorials doing this by using google earth. But on the other hand I read also that the data is crap.

Is there a reasonable solution for this?

Hope someone can help me out!

Have you tried the SRTM41.kmz method for Google Earth?

made this with that method.

Ofc "shitty" is a matter of opinion but imo it worked fine for what i needed.

I've tried the SRTM41.kmz method but the result is not very satisfying. Maybe for larger areas it's ok but for my small area it's not high-res enough. Maybe also because the area that I need is too flat. In the end it was more efficient doing it modelling it manually.
