Adding Puddles in Udk

Hi everyone so i was wondering how i could add puddle to my level in udk. I hear that the best way is to vertex paint hoever i havent really tried this out before. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

However if you believe it would be too advanced please do tell me as i dont want to be wasting my time.

Really all you need is a plane and a piece of geometry that dips. Create a water shader, position the plane, and your done.

Could vertex paint or give decals a shot thought vertex paint would give you the most flexibility and variation as you can play with all 4 channels.

ya wouldnt be to hard to make a vertex shader to do it, i would take it a bit farther actully, have 1 vertex colour paint in damage and places for the water to settle, than the other to paint the water into those cracks and damage.

I also have made my own vertex blending material function for UDK, i could send you a upk with it, but i think you are better off learning how to make them from scratch, since that way you will understand how it works and will know how to change it up for different uses.
