[DS2] Multi, Invizzie
Looks like a fun lil contest and it's been awhile since I was able to join in on any so I'm going to jump in and plan to do one of each: mace, axe, and hammer. Will try to do all three but will keep my options open!

Methinks this works pretty nicely!
The Tongue/tentacle wrapping around the handle is your most interesting element. Its going to eat up your polycount very quickly (as it should. Great idea), so you should take that into consideration with the rest of your design. Use fewer, larger details to offset the tight detail of the handle. The changes I made will not only give you a stronger silhouette, but it will actually take fewer polygons to create.

But, having now seen what you've done with it, I kinda like your idea.....! If it's ok with you, I think I'll run with it for my axe!
I'll move onto the hammer and mace....I have some interesting takes on those!

And i think you can make tentacle a bit thicker at the beginning, where it goes from skull's mouth and more thin at it's end. It will make a nice gradient
Also I like that elongated skull that BoBo did on the live stream, maybe try something similar on yours?
Bobo, would this work or do I need to adjust the smaller blade (vertical-wise) as well?

I really like the new design but I'm not sold on the tongues. Maybe an orb or a human skull may be better in its place.

Long time no see...how's it going?
The 'tongues' are actually supposed to be artistic flames, hence the name "Breath of Fire" for the Demonic Hammer. But, since I don't colour my sketches, I can see where one might think it's tongues but imagine it's going to be a molten core and fiery glows will be all over the Hammer, cooking from the inside out. The whole thing's gonna be metal so it can tenderize, pulverize and puncture all in one!
Funny you mention orb...I originally put an orb there and it threw the whole thing off LOL
Bit slow on the uptake today. Maybe you could add a chucky flame artstyle instead of the thin strips of flame.
I'll be adding a surprise into the middle of the Demonic Hammer strike pad (where the hammer meets the nail) when I start modeling....
Anyway, not a fan of the tongues/flames. The whole design is super noisy and I can't give my eye any rest on the hammer.
I also think the flames don't look solid enough to give a good bashing with. What if the demon head was vomiting a big chunk o rock with all sorts of twisted carvings and whatnot?
Mindschnapps, I think the flames detract from the attention to the head as well...this being a first iteration leaves alot of room for me to change/improve the overall design...
Neongoat, thanks for the input...I like your idea of the vomiting bit and will definitely try it and see how it goes...(I think the grip is the correct proportion..I had the proportions Bobo did as a faded layer in the background as I worked)

I have in mind that because it's a Darksiders weapon, as it's used, it would actually wail an ungodly scream to stun whomever before being beaten with the hammer!
(I feel the pommel is unfinished but my mind's a bit frazzled with possibilities)

I've got to figure out how to fix this...
I did a quick paint over last night before hitting the hay to better get my idea across about the chunky flames as I was thinking of a more stylised design towards them.
But look at your new design I perfer it better to the last one. But the mouth area looks to empty. Maybe give him a massive fat tongue to fill the area out a bit more.

Have added a tentacle tongue to the new Hammer head....I still don't like the pommel though...not sure what to do with it...
Will finish the works later when things have passed but I really can't focus on this right now...
