Hi All

I use Maya 2010 for my work and for some reason in the last few days the hardware texturing has become really slow, to a point where is unusable. The strange thing is its random, I rebooted yesterday and it ran fine, and now this morning its gone slow again. I had this problem ages ago and I cant remember what I did to fix it, but now its happening again.

I downloaded the Maya 2012 trial and that had no problems at all. I tried deleting all my user prefs for Maya 2010 but that made no difference and I also installed the latest nvidia drivers incase it was an opengl problem but no difference.

Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks alot

do you have references in your scene ? if yes open the original file and REASSIGN all your materials and delete history ! i can fix almost all frame-rate hicks-ups like that

Thanks but no references and its also slow regardless of the scene.
I`ve just rebooted and now its running fine again. So it seems to be completely random.

than i dont know one of my coworkers recently formatted his machine and his maya performance was terrible with what he believed to be the newest nvidia drivers but re-downloading and re-installing what actually was the most recent ones fixed it for him ...

id say try that AGAIN if that doesn't work i cant help you :(

I`ll try removing and reinstalling the nvidia drivers. One thing I discovered is if I reboot and run maya its fine. But then if I close Maya down and restart it, its very slow.

Well i removed the latest nvidia drivers , cleaned the registry and installed old 285 drivers and so far it seems ok. I`ve tried closing down maya , re-opening it. then rebooting a few times and no speed issues. So fingers crossed its an nvidia driver conflict somewhere.
