Ages ago I found a plugin for setting up reference images in Max 2011/2012, does anyone know what plugin it was? I'm sure it was on here, but searching I cannot find it.

from what i remember, the soulburn scripts include an image plane creator thing. but really, this takes what, 3 seconds to setup by hand? ;-)
