Normal Map smoothing issue

Hi!

I'm having some issues with the normalMap transition from zBrush to Maya. It seems to be smoothing the normalMap when I render the frame in Maya, i've already tryed to turn off the filterType on material and extract a bigger NM from zBrush, but nothing works. Is there anything else I could try to fix this problem?

    zBrush doesn't necessarily use smoothing groups and if you look close enough to the zBrush version you can see the "pixels" are the geometry. zBrush uses matcaps in conjunction with built in lighting setups (or dynamic ones) which might give the illusion of smoothing.

    Maya on the other hand is applying smoothing.

    So in short, you'll get a similar effect by not having any smoothing groups in Maya.
