yo, I feel kind of silly posting a showcase ontop of
rv_el and
Kevin Johnstone's amazingness but thats life.
First off, heres a tutorial I just made up about using a method found during this project.
Its not even a method really its just an explination of a brush that seems lesser known (or at least I didnt know about it)

ok, so heres the shots of my porfolio, if you looked at it in the past months you've already seen these.
Thoughts are encouraged, thanks!

How did you paint the texture? Polypaint? Turned out really nice.
@Dii: its just a lot of AO/Cavity. one thing I did make sure to pay attention to was to do some localized color variation, so I tinted the arms a bit green, the body more red, and some blues all over.
but naah it was done in PS
When I was working on it I had no reference for the colors, so when the movie came out I was super excited to find out how well I matched the movie. It seems the movie version was more..... bloody shal we say?
Great job man!
Was all your detail straight from the sculpt or did you add any in PS?
@: Jenn0: Right you are, I though to change the color of the spec but not the intensity.
also, didnt we work on DOTD together like 50 years ago? (Im Novaprospekt on the haus)
@: MrHobo, thanks alot man!
the detail was almost entirely matched to the sculpt, I just played with the AO and Cavity to make them pop as much as possible.
and very nice work on the model
Really nice character and thanks for the full breakdown Cool tutorial aswell
NOT in Zbrush terms its snapping two points to the surface of your mesh to determine the angle that it will affect.
so its basically like building a road over a mountain range.
You can decide the straightest line between two points, and force all the "Mountains" to flatten down to that plane.
Btw, the sword fencer lady's images on your site are repeated.
Hah, yeah we did, seems an eternity ago now though. I thought I recognised your Avatar from the haus, wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence though.
haha, now all we need is Royce to show up and it will be a parrty!
