Two weeks ago me and 4 of my fellow coworkers (Team Octopus) we did the the Bivouac Urbain, a game Jam in the city of Quebec.
We had 48 hours to make a game, and this is what we came with :

controls :
-start : P
-Directions : Arrows or WASD
-Jump : Space
-Kick : 1
-Suicide : 2
-Explosion : 3

The animation really is charming, there's a puzzle where I kicked the box thing into the corner and it kinda got stuck, oh well. Bring me more of his catty antics

Ha tricky but you have to start all over if you get It wrong? the part your on doesn't reset. No biggie but a tad annoying, awesome for 2 days!

did you go into the challenge with any kind of game design plan or rough sketches, or was it 100% within those 48hours?

Pretty interesting concept. I couldn't get past the part where you kick the box though. Too bad there isn't a way to start over easily.

to restart the room you can just press P and choose "restart room", we let the player this option because some rooms are a bit tricky.

@MikeF : we went in the challenge with the tools to make quickly a sidescroller. and we pretty much knew that we wanted to work in silhouette, we obviously get inspired by Limbo, World of go, Outland.
But all the visual, character and environment, animation, sound, rig, and the load of programming were done within the 48 hours of the challenge.

this is awesome, really cool game!

would be fun if you guys explored it after this, and push the "9 lives" element a bit more with puzzles and level design (gameover/fail after 9 spent lives).

This game is so clever man.
I love it.It took me a bit to understand that dying is actually part of the game play but once I got the hang of it...YES!

Seems like quite a lot of work for 48 hours worth(even the animation, considering having to wait for modelling/rigging),but it's a nice game. Interesting mechanic, you should develop it further and release it on a smartphone and make lots of money

excellent!! greatly inspirational and a great example of a small, possible project!
all the animations outside the navigation were as previously stated awesome.
the navigation anims however were lacking, mainly in inplementation though I'd imagine.

never the less, very nicely executed and good luck to you guys if you go on with this!!
