Hi,

I'm practicing my hard-surface modeling skills, making a sci-fi gate.
This is inspired from a concept art of Paul Richards (autodestruct.com).
Any feedback will be welcome!

521 tris (openable doors)
2048x2048 diffuse + specular + normal

Bake in xNormal
Textured in Photoshop

really great model. the texture seems a bit too specular for the amount of dirt that its got.

I think there is something about the metal that says stone to me. I could be wrong, but I think there is a tad to much contrast in the base metal. I really like how well the normals work though. I was expecting to see more polys in the wire frame.

@Oniram: Thanks for the advise! I'll consider it for the next progress.

@ariofighter: Yeah, I just saw it. I think it's my specular map that makes the difference for the glossiness. Thanks for the normal map! For the polycount, most of it is on the rod because it's a cylinder. I just deleted some edges and I got 396 tris. Not so bad, I don't see a big difference!
