Sketchbook: Panda's Pad
Hi, I just started learning 3D. Started sculpting in ZBrush about a week ago. I draw a lot, but only became serious with it around January this year. Here is some of my 2D and 3D work.

@wake: Thanks! In terms of ref, yes I do use them, but about 60% of what I do is imagination. Which is why about 2/3 of my work look really bad lol.
Todays update...
Kind of rushed this study. You can probably tell by the scribbling and near-cartoony look of the left-most girl. For some reason I like to draw right to left....hmm
This is by far some of the best sketch work I have ever seen. The studies in your first few posts are especially impressive.
Those stylized females look so awesome, I'm a huge fan of the 'Paul Richards Pinup' style and yours drops straight into that category with finesse! The curves and lines have so much style it's incredible.
I'll be watching for more!
Something to crit about is that most of the faces you draw have non-existent nose bridge. I know this style is used everywhere in comics and almost every manga artist simplify that way but if you are leaning towards more realistic style then shape of the nose is very important for identifying peoples age for example. younger people have the nose bridge curving more inwards but for adults the bridge goes more like outwards or almost straight.
I got some thing going on with big noses, can't help it.
Another thing is that I can see that you are avoiding drawing hands. You should do some hand sketches every now and then just like you do full figures and faces. I got same problem with hands. If I start concentrating on hands in quick sketches It breaks the flow totally. Just need to practise them a lot more separately.
Your drawings look very confident and forcefull like said in the other comments here. The shading technic is great. Quite similar to what you see in loomis books.

@GoodAsNew: Thanks for tip about nose bridges lol. It really did add character that was missing to my faces. And thanks again for the tip about outlining the light side. This is a bad habbit of mine... and unfortunately totally forgot about it in my mini study today....

Not sketching + going on vacation = forgetting all the basic rules of drawing This was a quick 20 minute study, but my God did I struggle

Quick sketches, anatomically pretty poor. I was in a hurry to get these done before driving to work. Trying to get faster and faster but it only gets more and more error prone. =(

I decided my previous study today was just not gonna cut it. So I did another value study, and this time actually took the values into account.
