just started zb4 and noticed its reverted back to original layout, so i redid it checked the StartupDocument.ZBR and its got todays date so i know its updated. Started it again and sure enough reverted back to original.
neither perspective nor symmetry are enabled and it still clips badly almost everytime. it only seems to happen with the clipreact brush.
Fixed the issue with not being able to save custom interface for some reason when it installed it missed out the custominterface35.cfg file i took it from 3.5 and it works now
@kendo, try to use opposite clip brush ( the white clip)
and cover the entire mesh except the part you want to cut.
about ctrl- alt thing maybe it because you select the clip brush
in brush pallete select the retangular marquee-like brush to go back to traditional
hide/unhide option in zbrush.
Was never too interested in Zbrush as an enviroment artist, always got away with mudbox. Seems though that there are some really powerfull tools in Zb4 to do hardsurface. So to cut to the chase: Zbrush`s weakness has always been hardsurface, now that this has been covered up, what are the chances that you dont need any other modeling package?

I haven't had much time to play with this new release yet, but right off the bat I noticed something that made my stomach turn.
Blender style orbiting? Really? Or am I missing something here? Navigation around your tools feels just like Blender now where in the past it always felt more, I dunno, normal. Is there some setting like moving from XYZ to Y or Z? A way to change the preferences so this doesn't happen? 'Tis un-cool.
It always defaulted to XYZ. And the option to change it to y axis orbiting is in the shelf to the right of the document window, same place as the last version.
Yeah I know it has always defaulted to XYZ and that all that is where it has always been, but now XYZ behaves like Blender orbiting (like you're a weeble wobble). Y has never orbited like XYZ, it's always been jacked-up-ish-ish, but now it works like XYZ used to? Do I have to select Y axis orbiting every time I open ZB now, or will the interface configuration save that setting?

Anyone else finding this.

I went to school with this guy.
Zbrush 4 seems to be working pretty well for him.
