So we're agreed for 6pm at the Tooley Street London Bridge underground entrance on Saturday? Could we try and get a rough headcount so we know roughly how many to wait for?
shit.
I get flown to london on september 5. I don't think I can ask them to rebook my flight just "to get together with some dudes i know online". And i don't think i should squander their money by going a day sooner and not taking the flight they booked...
or damn: is it the 21st? I totally kept thinking it was the 4th all this time. That's gonna be a bit short notice
Sorry guys, I've got to look at flats tomorrow evening, plus I've been sick since yesterday, really not feeling very good and don't really want to infect a bunch of people tomorrow.
If I'm feeling better I'll try to come along, but it's not looking likely at this point
Anyway. I might not show up either as i wrote metalliandy. Sorry dudes.
"Ah was thinking about it but everyone pulled out that i was gonna go with and I have some stuff i'd love to do at home. I also have to do some apartment hunting in a way. I'm out on my ass "soon"."
I pretty much have to start looking now. I got one week left in london until i leave to go back home (and the weekdays are tough due to work), I'll be back in sept and I get 2 weeks in temporary accomodation... it would be nice to get shit sorted before then. I'm gonna live in london so there's still possibilities to meet most of you hehe.
Anyone need a roommate or have an apartment they need to get rid off?
yea looks much smaller than we had planned
Everyone has a good reason for bailing though so its all good
Im pretty sure we will have another one around December but i think we should make a poll with 2 or 3 dates so we are super sure.

Perhaps updating the OP with a new date if a new one is found.
Regardless, I'mma start putting some polycount meat/meet money to the side for the next one.. :P
For those unfamiliar with London, regardless of whether you're heading there by tube or overground trains, when you get to London Bridge station, either go down the escalators from the overground platforms, or up the escalators from the underground platforms, and you'll find yourself in the main concourse.
Head for the exit marked Tooley Street - there should also be signs for the London Bridge Experience (presumably about how to develop a drug habit and / or alcoholism and sell copies of the Big Issue), the Britain at War experience and the London Dungeon, though I can't remember if these are signposted in the station or not.
Directly across the street from the entrance we're meeting at is the London Bridge experience and London Bridge Hospital.
The entrance (how did we live before Google?):
London Bridge Hospital (not to be confused with Guy's Hospital on the other side of the station):
Good news. i found a pretty nice apartment (london standards) in "you're-gonna-get-stabbed-ville" (Camden). Close to work and close to the party and the tube. Best of all worlds. Unless you count the stab part.
You should have come last night, man. We could have traded survival tips.
Maybe I was too harsh. Guns, drugs, Amy Winehouse - Camden's like playing GTA in perma-death mode! You'll be fine!
Seriously, get the vest.
sorry guys I had to bail out on you last minute.. next time ...
Those DVD's weren't gifts - we thought you were coming rolf, so we brought our audition reels hoping you could help us land a gig in the adult film industry. It's got to be more stable than games....
The guys not holding DVD's seemed to think they didn't need to audition. Amateurs.
So you guys think i should pull back my offer? I did do a deposit but I could always get that back.
All jokes aside, if it were me, I'd look for a place a little further out and take the tube in. Camden's certainly better than it was, but it's still rough, even by London standards. I'm not a postcode snob by any means, but I've lived here for six years now, and there's no way in hell I'd live in Camden. Like I said, though, it is better than it used to be.
I didn't mean to spook you, but I'd wager you could get a bigger place at a similar price if you travel even a little bit further.
Maybe spend a few nights hanging out in Camden at night to get a feel for the place, see if you can deal with it before making a concrete decision. I know you're in a hurry to find a place, but it's worth checking it out before you commit to anything.
Flavius is totally not a Polycounter. You can even tell because everyone else is wearing black or green (or both!), and he's in white and blue. What the hell.

Haha ^ I'm new here, I've lurked a while and it seems like a really nice community. Maybe I'll attend your next gathering! I'll remember not to wear game-artist colours. Should probably organise an Edinburgh/Scotland meet-up!

well as oposed to any other sucking polycounter working at splashdamage, he as a coder who has nothing to do with polycount was at least THERE :P
next time we should start earlier and in a pub, when no one is able to move, the other should have come to us instead of taking us to the cinema

Oh lovely meat sweats, how i have missed you so! ^^
I wonder if I have my really old polycount shirt.. I have no idea where it got to ...
I want to see a much larger sign this time or perhaps even a full Greentooth standard.
Make it so...(with Crayons!)
:P
i just had to buy a new one, because my old one is lost as well :X
or maybe it was stolen!:poly122:
I bet they go to a completely different Nando's to feel all smug for working on such an awesome title.

Not to worry, MoP - feel better, mate!
Get the train man! you can sleep in the gutter ^^
@MoP hope too see you guys there if you are feeling better and good luck with the flat hunt!
Wait, shit, what? wooahh not happening.
No way I can make it if it's tomorrow! I was thinking it was the 4th! :poly127:
Posted on the 24th of July, and we just ran with it I guess.
Looks like it's shaping up to be a much smaller gathering than initially thought.

have fun those that do get there!
Nice to meet everyone
Sorry for the crappy photo...my camera isnt super awesome :P
Fixed.
I'll say congratulations on finding a place, but trying to congratulate someone on moving to Camden is proving impossible.
Arkham Asylum did really well, so I'd guess you'll be able to afford this.
Wahlgren, as long you got hobo-stab-insurance, you should be fine.
pffft camden is for sissies
