I whole heartedly agree - I feel this movie WILL actually be funny and that the cheesy style will work for it. I love what they've done with it so far.
it looks pretty visually interesting, the main thing with me it looks like its trying to hard to by hip or kitschy, feels a bit forced.thats just the impression i get from the trailer though so Im not gonna hold it against it. I love edgar wrights work though so I have high hopes.
Lets just hope Micheal Cera doesnt give the exact same performance he usually does, mutter mutter , stutter stutter, im so awkward. it was good in superbad but its getting old fast.

Well, the movie is pretty faithful to the comics.
so blame the source material if the movie seems too 'hip or kitschy'.
its ok no need to get pissed at him .. he uses blender..
No I don't.
If any of you found a single 'joke' in that trailer funny, there really is no helping any of you There's probably more laughs to be had in any juvenile teen movie like American Pie. The one-liners in that trailer are so bad and cheesy, looks like Cera knows it too. What a terrible performance in that trailer. Definitely won't be bothering with this one.
Is this Simon Peggs new film? Please say it's not...
Blenderhead, perhaps it would serve you better to express your opinion of the content (Which you have done) as opposed to calling everyone elses sense of humor into question. Personally, I think american pie was an atrocity, and personally I don't really look forward to this film, though I imagine i'll see it at some point.
Exactly :P And calling people's humour into question is better than 'gonna slap you duur' Sayin stupid shit like that, is only gonna start something amirite?

I think there's just hype around this feature because of Shaun and Hot Fuzz being great, but if I had seen this trailer without the 'from the makers of' at the end, I would never in a million years have guessed who made it. Probably would have guessed the makers of 'Date Movie' made it

I will agree with this as well.. I feel like there might be a good actor in him somewhere.
honestly half of my enthusiasm stems from chris evans stealing the entire trailer with his one line. (kind of like how RDJ did at the end of the edward norton hulk flick)
Cera plays the same character in everything, and I haven't much liked anything Edgar Wright's been involved with since Shaun.
I'm still holding out for a Spaced feature length film, but I think Pegg and Frost are too famous for it, now. Which is a shame - I preferred them both when they were less everywhere, with a smaller cult following.
I still haven't lost any hope for any Kevin Smith/Pegg/Frost/Wright's projects, maybe if they are still making shitty stuff in 5 years, but Clerks II wasn't bad. Hot Fuzz wasn't near as epic as Shaun of the Dead, but it wasn't a fail either.
american pie was absolutely hilarious at it's time. now that dozens of other movies copied the humor it may not seem as funny anymore.
but i am sure back then most of you loved american pie.
i like the direction this movie is going, i have enjoyed every movie michael cera was in so far, and especially his role in arrested development.
and mary elizabeth winstead is hot - i usually find any movie enjoyable as long as there is a hot girl in it.

yeah... i'm going to go ahead and disagree with you there.
i'm pretty apathetic about this movie. i feel like i should like it just because it has video game references, but that's just not enough...
Waiting for this. Kick Ass was an absolute butcheringly bad adaptation of the comic. This just looks like a silly take on the regular teen-drama movie/series. That and the comic is awesome, so are the video game tie ins. Michael Cera is not exactly an actor I love but I think he plays the role decently. Looking forward too it. Just been nothing but shitty movies lately, good God.
my girlfriend and i watched it together this weekend, totally thought it was gonna be a lame spoof movie, nothing else was on. and out of nowhere all kinds of awesome assaulted us.
but this looks like it could be cool too.
on a more serious note though, watch anything you want right now, because The Expendibles will curb your need to watch any other movie again ever ever ever.

It looks promising to me, I'll probably check it out as an excuse to goto the local theater that serves food and beer to you while you watch the movie.
Saw it this weekend. LOVED it. It has a certain flashy flair that is hard to describe. The whole movie feels like a comic book videogame turned into a music video.
I was not a huge fan. I just couldn't get into it. My brain never shut up like it's supposed to in a good movie. The ramona and scott thing felt horribly unrealistic as far as relationships go. It never seemed like ramona really liked him, she only kinda tolerated him. Did she actually look like she was having fun with scott even once in the movie? The ending also felt pretty lame. Probably because of the last minute re-shots to change the ending.

Hey, I don't know about you but that sounds pretty accurate for half my past relationships :P
...I haven't much liked anything Edgar Wright's been involved with since Shaun.
... You mean Hot Fuzz? That being the only thing Wright has really done since Shaun...
Also, I don't get all the comparisons between this and kickass or no more heros. Scott Pilgrim is visually stylish like them, but that's it. And it's not even the same style...
Feels like people just watch for two seconds, see interesting visual style and then announce that it is just like whatever the other most recent movie with an interesting visual style was. :P
Scott Pilgrim is not really at all like Kickass. The only similarity between the two that I can think of is that I'd rate both a solid FUCK YEAH out of 10.
It's done by Destructoid's Johnathan Holmes. He regularly does a podcast called Bit Transmission. Dunno if the full interview will make the next episode or not but I sure hope it does.
How is it that so often my opinion is so diametrically opposed to everyone elses? Oh right. Everyone else is crazy.
This movie is bad. No not bad. Utterly insufferable. We hold this truth to be self evident and as such do not need to elaborate or give any kind of adequate explanation.
So lame, the movie tanked at box office, only making 10 mill, which doesnt come close to the 80 mill production costs.
Not sure what they were expecting it tbh, you show a trailer that's half gamer/action/fighting on the same weekend expendables is out so fans of those things will go to watch that, and then the other half seems to be all romantic-y and there's always one of those crappy love movies coming out so I'm sure people went to see one of those instead.
I haven't seen this movie but I'll fight anyone that doesn't like Kick ass. Same for American Pie which was hilarious. Well not real fight but like on call of duty or something. TRY ME.

It's looks like Kick Ass, except made of completely unfunny fail instead of pure awesome.
i should slap you, but you deserve far worse.

Yep this happened to me and my friends
Didn't read the comic, maybe I will.
(I found Kick Ass quite disturbing btw, that girl is going to be fucked up forever)

Never. Ever.
1. It's not a highschool romance, Michael Cera is playing his own age (22) for once
2. Don't think of it as a Michael Cera movie but an Edgar Wright movie
weapon trails make everything look better

Saw it over the weekend, and loved it by the way.
I geeked out on this .... I have the capacity to geek.
Is there a longer version of this anywhere? Was interesting.
Also, I want one of the fake Lucas Lee posters.
