CA Antivirus but I kinda have fallen out of love with them. Though not as bloated as other virus it still is. Getting updates as well beyond patches (Ie going from 1.0-2.0 mid year) is a PITA of searching on their site.

Not interested in free or bloatware. So. Anyone use these? Supposedly small footprint/system use.
Used Nod32 for 3.5~4 years across 3 machines. Really good, updates are daily. Low on system resources.
Used MSE for 1.5 years. Even lower on system resources. Updates are daily. Doesn't have system resource spikes like Nod32 does when it hits a large file. Also MSE scans MUCH faster on deep system scans.
Also spyware and related software? Or will the software already listed deal with that? I have AVG and I think my system is getting raped by a virus/spyware.

The thing about MS. Can it scan non MS files completely? You know things normally MS tries to ignore. Like.
Tarballs
7z
Openoffice files.
Oggs/Flac. (Not that I have heard of a virus attaching to an ogg or flac)

I would have thought with Blender you would be using Ubuntu or something? Most commercial AV software comes with a spyware portion as well.

Or use Avast.
I'm using avast at the moment however because it's free.

Also check out malewarebytes, http://www.malwarebytes.org/. I use it in conjunction with nod32. Very effective and free.
