That's me crying at my polycount acceptance speech.
Gotta love it... hang around PC for a while... talk some smack... get a jerb.
Oh yeah, I left out: Make some tv reference avatars that confuse the hell out of people.
Seriously though, thanks for all the support guys. I literally wouldn't have this job if it wasn't for PC because this is where I met Tim. (Junkie_XL). Certainly I wasn't ready after graduating to get a job in the games industry and this is where I learned from that point on. I just wish I never bothered getting a game design degree (I already had a Bachelors before I went for that degree) and just learned 3d from polycount from the beginning.
Either way, I'm extremely happy I ended up with my first studio gig at Escalation. They are an awesome group of guys, and what's best is the owners are some of the coolest guys you could meet. Sort of like that perfect balance of professionalism, yet easy to approach and talk to. So yeah, I think this job will be ideal for me.
By the way, I was seriously LOL with some of the comments. Pretty standard on polycount though. Heh heh.
I was told I can start as soon as I want (of course there is a date I have to start at, at the latest), but I'm gonna get down there as early as I can because I'm so excited to get all setup and get to work. So I'm going thru all my crap and trying to throw everything out I don't absolutely need/want. Oh yeah, gotta update that UT WIP thread first though.
