Zac: come on man, read the first post, at least
This is what Adam's been talking about for a while now, where you'll have an image pop up only when you hover over a thread. It'll be really unintrusive.
And as long as it doesn't fuck with ctrl/mmb-clicking (open in new tab), then I think it's a good idea.
I think what might be good, is a screenshot/mockup example for the mouseover. I'd be fine with the concept, but I'm curious how you'd pick the image, and if it would be large enough for details to be seen.

I probably should of said @GCMP, he posted right above me...
I know the polycount guys will do what they think is best for the site, but I'm wondering what direction they are going to go with these poll results...
You know this may be a step in the past but I know its one of the things that originally attracted me to PC. What about a custom character center for multiplayer shooter games created by members? You know like all those wonderful characters members made for Q2 and 3. Unreal Tourney+.
I am pretty new here but I do like what I've seen so far, a lot!
The news are awesome and I can't wait for the Fridays Forum Recaps.
User Galleries in combination with a CGHUB like Startpage would be amazing. I love to go on cghub.com and getting inspired by just looking at the main page and refreshing now and then.
Or alternatively some kind of voting system for attached images, the most-faved images of the week are beeing displayed on the front page.
Every few days the votes for a picture are beeing reset, so everyone got a chace.
Ofcouse then we also got all the cons of public image hosting.
To make it short, we need a way to showcase the awesomeness that happens here on polycount at one glace.
When did we ever announce that we were working on a portfolio website?
Hmm, I must be losing my mind then. I could have sworn there was something called gamefolio or something that was announced, it has the old polycount splash page and everything, but with blue color instead of green..

Thats a good start btw
like 1/2 the screen showing thumbs of gallery/folio updates and the other half being news, articles, etc.
