Got a Gamer PC, Xbox 360, Wii and a Playstation 3, I play on them all, but I prefer my Xbox 360 over everything else. I buy exclusive games for Wii, PS3 and PC and my Xbox 360 is the on that gets most attention.
This upcoming month (May) is a critical hit to my wallet. I've pre-ordered/bought Endless Ocean 2, Monster Hunter Wii, Lost Planet 2, Red Dead Redemption & Skate 3. I want to buy Alan Wake and Mario Galaxy 2 as well, though I have to wait until I can save some money for it.
And yeah I make time to play these games as well, late nights & early mornings
I roll deep, with all seven provided options. I collect video games, so have even more consoles than the ones described here. And I still enjoy pulling out the retro goodness a few times a year.
PC and I am not poor at all, I love PC games for following reasons:
- I am too lazy to get up and go to the living room to play my ps3 or reach my bag for psp.
- The compatiblity of the style of games that I play, only make sense on PC.
- Multiplayer is greater on PC than any other system.
PS3, PSP: On the rare occassion(s) when I am completely bored of PC games I'll consider PSP or PS3
360, pc, ds, mac. PC has some unique products, but overall pc gaming sucks. 360 wins out in volume of games, but i think i use my pc most in terms of time because of hl2 mods i play with friends and shit like that.
PC only, have been since my Atari 2600 (which I still play from time to time). I keep toying with the idea of either a 360 or PS3 for the platform exclusive games but most of them keep coming out for PC if I wait long enough. And really, I don't need another time sink.
I have an Xbox and Wii but don't like buying games for them, especially Xbox. I get the same games on Steam and play them using my usb Xbox controller. Usually for a highly reduced price. Console games in stores never go down in price.
At work I play A LOT of Xbox/PS3 but that's not necessarily by choice.
its funny too, having both a 360 and a ps3, I feel bad for ps3 owners ... its all the same on paper, but in practice the ps3 feels like it gonna snap/refuse to play games all the time. OS just isnt smooth nor clear.
Anyways, DS also, but only for KorgDS. For games the screen feels just too small to me. Also snatched a psp for free ... hence I can 'play' MGS graphic novel on it. Interestingly enough this has been my favorite title recently!
i barely touch my pc anymore, ive pretty much converted to a console gamer. I just like sitting on my couch with my big tv and relaxing. mostly i like playing with my friends on xb live, and now preffer playing games with a controller, im mostly into 3rd person games like god of war / prince of persia and always hated playing those kinda games on the pc.
its kinda funny because back in my highschool days i was hardcore into counter-strike/ day of defeat and was an elitist pc gamer too, but nowadays i just dont care for it that much and would rather play story driven games.
i have both 360 and ps3 and kinda feel the same way pior does, i only really get exclusives on the ps3, any other multiplatform game i grab on my 360 simply because i feel my ps3 might break or its not going to run/look as good. then games like uncharted and GoW3 come out and make me think they would never run on 360 haha.
Aaaaaand right after writing this ... here comes a 3.30 system upgrade taking ages to install.
They really dont make their system fun to use ... All I wanted is to watch a cool movie ...
Just PC, i bought a 360 and have honestly used it maybe 1 hour a month since. I doubt i will buy another console until they blow PCs out the water. I prefer the freedom pc gaming gives you, you can MOD and change many more settings. Play more genres and try out free Indy games without having a Sony or MS overlord deciding on things for me.
Same as thermidor really, I have pc/360 but play the 360 very rarely nowadays and use it mostly as a media streamer :P. Until they release a console that has mouse and keyboard control as a shipped peripheral (and supported by games) I wont be playing much on console ever really. I really do suck at using a pad.
I guess it kinda makes sense that people with pcs capable of making video games art are going to use those same pc's to play pc games, I would only buy a console when I have the budget for it and I dont so my pc gets the investment as it is my workhorse and my game station
im planning on getting either a ps3 or xbox , its not the same playing on the pc with your friends watching , instead i can buy extra controllers and sit on the living room with them while having drinks i guess im more of a social gamer lol...
Honestly though, I could lose the xbox (the only games getting played on it are Gears of War and Modern Warfare (Epic, please release GOW3 on PC so I can ditch my 360!). The Wii is just around for 'party games' when the family comes over, and most of my DS games aren't played anymore (I keep myself busy with my nintendo and SNES emulators on my phone...)
you guys need to convince your studio to enact console purchase rebates and game purchase plans, it's the wave of the future. The argument: you are studying your craft.
if it wasn't for tf2 I probably wouldn't be playing anything on pc anymore, but I find I play more snes/nes games these days than current games. I guess since I play them on virtual console or with my r4 I'd put wii and ds. I can't wait for the day that we have little or absolutely no load times in games like back in the day. I'd love to see the figures on how much actual playtime you lose waiting on loading screens and whatnot.
I wanted to vote for PC, but according to Steam I spend about half an hour per day playing games, as opposed to at least two hours of reading per day, so I wouldn't call myself a gamer at all. It's not a lack of time, but I'm so incredibly tired of all these games being so incredibly poor.

dito but i use my ps3 as its quiet, my early elite360 sounds like a nuclear power fridge with a drinking problem

I've got a bad case of mouse wrist from working in front of a computer all day so I prefer consoles.

Love the 360 and my DS though, Wii's are good fun at parties.

I also own a Wii, PS3 and DS but I rarely play on them
This is so true, love steam, ive even started adding non steam games to my list so i can shift tab to chat.

DS also occasionally, although I'm currently hooked on New Super Mario Bros, trying to get 100% completion.
