Gears of War (one) is my favorite game of all time and I was so disappointed when GoW2 had changed so much about the gameplay and made the game overall less enjoyable. I was a hardcore GoW player back when it was the only one in the series. I really hope this one can bring me back. Anyone agree with me on this?

Really? I enjoyed 2 much more than 1. I think the gameplay in 2 was better and the storyline was compelling than the first. Maybe I was just drawn into the game more so than I was in the first? Others seem to share your opinion though and not mine :P

Totally understandable. I feel the first was more fast paced and I loved coming home everyday and playing until I had to go to bed. I could play for hours on end no matter how frustrated I got. I was obsessed pretty much

I never really bothered with Gears Mp, save for Horde with a friend. I did find the second one's campaign much better than the first (which was already great). Especially at the end I was like "ohhh snap I need to play the sequel to this", really made me appreciate the high production value of the series.

damn now i need to buy myself a new xbox after my old ones rrod , the gow games are one of the few console shooters that keep me interested while playing them in campaign mode.

But all that alpha male crap is so embarassing to me that I just can´t connect, can´t get involved. Worst character design ever, and too much brown.

Now i feel kinda relieved knowing that i´m not the only one who doesn´t like it

There is a Xbox live Epic studio report on dashboard this week and they claim to be working on 3-4 titles currently. Hope there is some new ideas in the works too!

I genuinely enjoyed Gears2 think the story is progressing pretty nicely but I hate underwater sections in games. Spoiled Ninja Gaiden among others. Could be a lame section.

I think their alpha-male-mumbojumbo is quite tongue in cheek. Everything is SUPER BADASS. I dunno, I think their manlyness and oversized muscles fit the setting quite well. I mean, they are no less silly than almost every single female character ever designed :P I think men with Gears proportions are more common in the US than chicks with videogame proportions are, considering the BMI average ^^

The first Gears was a real brown-fest, but I really think they stepped it up in the second one, they have quite alot of colour, I think. Definately not less than any other shooter. (a select few excluded ofcourse)

For me it's not the alpha male macho my-dick-is-huge muscle rubbing protein shake pounding fest, because that IS funny in its own way. I just can't stand the gameplay and level design. The two combined in the way they are bore me to death. I literally have fallen asleep playing co-op.

I feel that the multiplayer in the first was the best I've ever played. They changed too many things in the second which really pushed me away. Hopefully they feel they lost some players by doing so and change it back to the way it was

Not to get all analytical on this, but think about what they are fighting. There's a reason they are massive. Could you see today's sized men fighting locusts? That's probably why the stranded are little regular sized people :P

I'll agree the MP was worse in the second, BUT I rarely play MP on any games (I suck too bad) so I don't usually give my opinion on any MP games ha...

Yeah I couldn't even finish the first game. I always felt as if that facade of extreme manliness was going to snap at any moment and they'd go all brokeback on each other. On second thought, that would totally redeem that game if that actually happened.

They should create a campaign for the Gears of War three, and just port the multiplayer from Gears 1 in to it for the MP section...

With new maps of course! Do you think they will bring all of the maps they have in to three like they did with 2? They ported a bunch of them. Only a couple did not make it...

I liked the mood of that trailer. So weirdly peaceful. Looking forward to play with the girl, I really hated the ridiculously huge muscles on the dudes.

I actually think this is a good thing for the games industry in general! Seriously, he is a pretty cool representative, showing that were not all fat ass nerds sitting behind a tiny computer programming things! The games industry is almost as bigger(or bigger) than the movie industry, yet (talk)shows never invite anyone game related, and in this case I like how its not some PR rep, but an actual developer(although he has become more of a PR guy lately I suppose).
