i am currently taking a character design class taught by the great Jordu Schell
it is one of the greatest classes i have ever taken, its cheap(for what you get), and really fun. if your anywhere near LA i would suggest take it! we actually have 2 guys flying in every week from arizona to take it.. this class will make you a better artist.

for real, this class is not only DIRT cheap, but sounds absolutely amazing from what i heard...
if you live out in this area, you would be an idiot not to cough up the change for this.... if i was out that way, i most certainly would

Aesir: If you haven't tried traditional sculpting, I would recommend it. The class is only a month long so even if you don't like it it won't kill you.
I wasn't much into the idea of traditional sculpting either until I had a 3 month class on it during school. It's a lot of fun and working with your hands. Making an armature and sculpting the clay is a really unique experience. I wish I had more chances to do it, I just don't really have a nice work area for that kind of thing. I learned a lot in that course that I was able to apply to my 3d art afterward.
