Color poly by vertex plugin

Hey, I am looking for a plugin called "Color poly by vertex". Basically what it does is it literally colors all triangles, and ngons. It really points out any modelling mistakes you possibly could have done and is REAL nice to have if you plan on bringing a model into mudbox, since mudbox really doesn't take in tri's very well.

Are you talking about Max? Which version do you have? There's a tool for this in Max 2010.

It's not the STL check that's built into max by any chance? That pretty much checks most things that Mudbox wouldn't like - overlapping faces, open edges and other strange poly errors, don't think it checks tri's though?

Max2010 you can use graphite modeling tools (or polyboost for 2009 and lower) to select faces based on # of edges. Its under selection > By Numeric or use "Non Quad" to select all non-quads.

Illusion Catalyst also has similar function "nGon" which does the same thing. It's a good free alternative to polyboost.

Also Monster has a "whos my quad" script for just this type of thing.
