Yeah, there might be something wrong with your OBJ. I've found that 3.5r3 is more unstable when it comes to importing exporting, even noticed that if you click off of the screen sometimes ZB will just crash during this process...
Its always nice when they make things unstable when they try to improve the software.
Troy has this problem as well. I dont seem to have it, but I would just save after every import/append. Did you post this in the tech forum of Zbrushcentral?
I have alot of gripes about r3 but the addition of the planar and the trim dynamic brush stops me from reverting back to my 3.1. :<
Just out of curiosity this same problem happens EVEN when i create the base mesh inside zbrush, polysphere3d -> export -> import number 1 FINE -> import number 2 crash.
Mine crashes like clockwork on the SECOND import unlike yours which is the 3rd. No matter where my obj is sourced from, it fails every time. Ive tried max, maya and zbrush.
That's a strange one. Aside from the random scaling issue which I've now got sorted, I've never had any issues importing or exporting with the latest version of Z. Used to get random crashes if I was trying to import something with dubious geometry.
This happens to me when i try and import more than 2 objs
-just import your 1st obj
-save it as a ztool
-close it
-import your next
-load your ztool
-append your new obj into your ztool
-and repeat for the rest of the objs
sounds tedious and maybe is but is a good work around
Anuxinamoon, Malus: I saw a post in a polypaint thread not too long ago that mentioned setting up a macro to fix the scaling issue. I haven't had this problem yet and have not ventured to investigate further.

For example,
I create my basemesh in 3DS Max, and then go into zbrush and start importing them 1 by 1. On the 3rd import, Max will crash like clockwork.

Rediculous!
