i dont remember the name... it was one of those legend (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089469) type fantasy films that had the puppets etc. (altho not as eerie as a ridley scott film...)
the only thing i remember from it is that the hero knight had a pretty paladin-ish armor design, silver-black with gold decoration, it was very cool, and a matching sword i believe. he had long black hair...
...and at the main scene he was fighting in some castle or fortress of sorts, in this pond with a huge water-hydra / dragon beast. pretty smokey and chaotic scene from what i remember...
anyone? bring'em on!

Hrm, can't find the exact picture but there was a scene similar to the one you described in the movie Willow. Maybe that's it?

i am glad u approve of my costume-design assessments skillz!
Some great design work in that movie - some very memorable environments, monsters and costumes. General Kael is also up there with my favourite villains in cinema too
As far as midgets go, Warwick Davis is the best. He could kick Verne Troyer's ass any day. The guy has been in Empire Strikes Back, Willow, Harry Potter, Leprechaun (in the hood!), Narnia. He's a beast. A tiny beast.
The movie is okay, NES game was epic awesome.
stop motion turkey dragons ftw!!!

Shadow moon by Chris Claremont (the guy who made x-men super awesome in the early 90s) and George Lucas himself. It's a pretty awful book.

this movie has the star ewok from star wars, extras from star wars, sounds from star wars and even uses the same fucking cross fade things
i must go digging for old fantasy movies, there are some great seams of refs to be harvested methinks...
First of a trilogy.
And come on, it wasn't awful...
I recall watching a movie called the Sword and the Sorcerer when I was young (maybe 25 years ago) and thinking it was pretty great. I watched it again recently and wasn't so impressed with some of the effects, but others were alright...
