Here's a chance to show polycount some diversity. Keep the images decent sized. Photos of your stuff or other game artist's in galleries is always cool. Don't be afraid to post some works-in-progress.
No photoshop stuff unless its a print, also tell us a bit about the piece, I guess you can post some older pieces you really like too, but try to keep most of it recent.

3hr drawing I assignment, done with conte (I think its 18" 24") self portrait.
it's about a friend of mine. Could be wip or pre study...
a quick thing, you can really use line the darker lines to bring attention to certain areas even on sketches if you pay attention (pick areas you spend a lot of time on or a focal point or just to show off some detail) right now the darkest lines are the shoes and hair. Peoples eyes are drawn to those areas first, and the middle area is kinda lost.
I know this is a study but I like to quickly add those darker lines at the end of decent studies quickly just to take advantage of that, don't over do it though.
His left arm is a bit disconnected.
is the friend the monkey or the dude?
lol, we were never blessed with that kind of setup when I was an art student
good to see people doing traditional stuff, i sometimes think all game industry people should try more to get into something traditional. I was surprised how many of my coworkers were uncomfortable in the studio (myself included!)
Maybe we get a bit complacent hunched behind our dual-screens-of-outside-world deflection +1?
It's nice to knock a bit of rust off now and again I think. Makes me wish I did a degree now! I could have had years of this sort of fun!
-hotdog stand and a pope. I find them both weird
-cambie bridge near home
-random internet pic as ref.
Something I noticed in my last stint of non-digital work - I get a real kick out of making the marks, that might sound lame maybe but there's something about making a good mark that really hits the spot. What can I say, I'm easily pleased!
yakuza back there
pencil and paper .......,ll become our only weapon when digital age meet their end .....
These are by no means recent but its some of the last traditional suff I have done.
Pen and ink with water color.
This one was charcoal and watercolor with some digi elements added after the fact.
Jay, any chance to get a link to the reference you used for the helmet boob girl?
Wishing courage to your friend Bart

Pior, that was just a black ball-point pen, and then going over it with some graphite shading (i use one of these for shading http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e305/muzzoid/g2415.jpg).
Its two super standard mediums but they do have a pretty cool look when used in that way.
I believe I already posted this in the WAYWO thread, but I wanna support this thread too
Did this a few months ago now, Acrylic on Canvas, 8x8":
needs more human plates
I got a bunch on traditional stuff in the running but non worthy of showing right now.
Its digital.. but fuck it
Although, I think the Last Supper is one of those things not to mess with
Two recent ones.
Did you PAINT that photo-realistic beauty?? That's a lot of love that went in there! If you painted that hair, than that's CRAZY realistic! :O Awesome!!
I do have to confess that it is based on a reference, though i painted on a bigger scale and left out- changed some.
The hair was really fun to paint,
if you take the time and add the small parts here and there it becomes lively real fast
I really recommend doing a detailed drawing, so much info you learn from these pieces
Thanks Ma'am
Btw, You got some great detail and use of color going on in your painting aswell! Good stuff Mezz
crappy cellphone camera :P

For some time I created a few blown up pixel paintings with characters from games like Bubble Bobble, New Zealand Story, Hard'n'Heavy and the like - it's a pity they didn't surive when I moved into my current flat.
